A Sit and Sew for Featherweight owners to have fun and exchanging ideas and become more confident in using your machine. Plans are in the works for classes in maintenance and techniques on using the other attachments. Dates are in the works for monthly classes and depending on the number more than one class will be offered to allow for social distancing. Class date/fee are tentative, email for more details. Monthly sewing club for Stash Busting - Using your scraps! Every two months the group will pick a different pattern. Great way to sew with friends and make new one's. Class will run from 10am - 1pm, you may sew till closing if you wish.

801: Beginner Sewing and techniques Class

801: Beginner Sewing and techniques Class
Learn basic sewing and cutting techniques to put you on the path to being a good quilter. You will learn to use a rotary cutter, rulers and follow a basic pattern to perfect your cutting skills which is the beginning step to good block construction. This is a 2 part class event and you will have a lap quilt top approximately 50x60 finished size. In part 2 of the class you will also practice 2 other blocks as a skill builder including squaring up blocks which is a technique used in many patterns. Call or stop by the shop any day before the class with any questions or help with fabric selection so you will be ready to start the class. Basic working machine is needed for this class, 1/4" foot preferred or regular foot, pins, small scissors and thread. Tools needed for class are a rotary cutter and useful Rulers are a 6-1/2" square and a 6"x12" rectangle. If you are very new to sewing and need to purchase notions we are happy to advise you on quality products which will last many years.
